Pontiac Firehawks are distinguishable mainly by their year of manufacture, their build and their performance. All of these variants have subtle differences in specifications. The 1992 and 1999 Firehawks can reach a top speed of 160 mph.

Pontiac Firehawks manufactured in 1995 have a 5735 cc V-8 engine with 350-cubic-inch of displacement, a power output of 315 brake horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 342 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. 1999

The 1999 Pontiac Firehawks have an LS1 V-8 engine, an OHV valvetrain, a 346-cubic-inch displacement and a power output of 326.9 break horsepower. These vehicles are rear-wheel drive and the engine is located in the front. Dimensionally, the front and rear wheels are 17 by 9 inches and the tires are 275/40ZR17.

2001

The 2001 Firehawk has the same engine, displacement, transmission, drive, tires and wheel size as the 1999 Firehawk but differs in power output, having a 335.0 brake horsepower rating and 59.08 brake horsepower per liter. The engine redlines at 6,000 rpm. The bore size is 3.93 inches, stroke is 3.62 inches and compression is 10.1-to-1. The 200 Firehawk has power-assisted steering, 11.9-inch brakes and a fuel performance rating of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

1995 Competition Model

These Firehawks were more expensive and sold new at around $52,000. They have a 5785 cc engine with 353-cubic-inch displacement, a power output of 350 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a 60.5 horsepower per liter performance. The torque is 390 foot-pounds at 4,400 rpm.
